So what are we waiting for? Grab a drink and let’s get to the tour and review of the Utopia of the Seas!

Have to say overall, Utopia was a great ship, however I think the ship would have been better for a week long sailing, vs these shorter 3 and 4 night cruises. Way too much on the ship to enjoy to see and do it all in such a short time period. As I write this blog I come across more and more what was missed and what we had to choose to enjoy vs what we missed.

Before we get into the  blog, I want to say with the Oasis class ships, we’ve been on Oasis, Harmony and Allure (twice). So when we reference things we are comparing to them. Not Symphony and/or Wonder, we have not done those two.

PROS

- If you’ve done Allure, Oasis or Harmony. Utopia is better in every way.

- Venues were all fresh and updated compared to older Oasis class ships.

- Food & service in the main dining room was fantastic. After getting off Disney Fantasy and having the incredible service, Utopia was up there.

- Windjammer was amazing, usually my most hated buffet was now my favorite.

- Aqua80too was an incredible show, if you’re into the 80s you’ll love it!

- Standby lines for the shows (if early) still gave you great seat selection.

- Solarium Bistro for dinner was amazing.

- Solarium was a lot nicer than older Oasis class ships.

- Aqua Dunes (mini golf) at night looked awesome with it being lit up a bit.

- Hot tubs around the pool were nice, same with the pools.

- Mason Jar was a fun place to relax and listen to country music.

- Pesky Parrot was overall a fun venue, always something new to see.

- Casino was really nice to my wife. See cons for my experience.

CONS

- The Sexiest Man Competition was a bit awkward with having grown men walk around stripping and grinding on judges with kids in the pool feet away from them. Also at parts the kids would be splashing water onto them.

- Ship was on the warmer side for the most part. Coldest venues we came across was Hooked and the Solarium Bistro. Rest of the ship was either okay temperature or a bit on the warm side. Room was fine for the most part.

- Elevators we felt were worse than the standard elevators. Felt we waited longer for the “smart” elevator than a traditional one.

- TV on pool deck never showed any movies. They just had some live events and some sort of YouTube shorts style video.

- All-In was not that good of a show in our opinion. Some elements were cool, like the drones, but the overall show made no sense and didn’t enjoy it.

- So many sections in all of the show lounges (AquaTheater, Royal Theater and Studio B) were largely taken over for higher-tiered guests.

- I hate that f**k*** casino!

- Many of the events around the ship never started on time.

- Crew lack of communication (mainly asst. CD). They didn’t announce the Aquashow being cancelled until it was supposed to go live. Which they knew prior, but still let a ton of people in and knew a ton of people went to get drinks for the show.

- Ship felt overwhelmingly packed on our sea day. Wasn’t terrible, but at times got a bit hard to walk around.

DECK 2

Port Gangway

Down on deck 2 is where we start our tour. However, this was one place we never actually made it to, since we never got off the ship. Our only port day was Coco Cay, but since we’ve been here often we took advantage of the ship and stayed on.

Medical Center

If you require any type of medical assistance, this is where the Medical Center is located.

DECK 3

Conference Center

Looking for a room where you can hold a meeting or conference, this is where you’d be able to do that.

Dining Room (Deck’s 3 to 5) (Complimentary)

Spanning across decks 3, 4 and 5 is the beautiful main dining room. We had dinner here twice and breakfast one of the days. Overall the food was good, probably go as far as saying better than some of the other Royal Caribbean ships we’ve been on. Service on the other hand, at least for dinner was as good as you’re going to get. Coming off Disney Fantasy recently we hoped to have good service since this is a new ship, but our waiters were both incredible. From all of our 43 cruises, they are in the top for sure. Breakfast is very standard as far as the wait staff goes, which is like that on every single line. Wish they would give a bit more attention during those meals as well overall. Food, like I mentioned better than we expected.

DECK 4

Royal Theater (Deck’s 4 & 5)

We now move up to deck 4, where you will find a lot of the entertainment venues, starting with the Royal Theater. Now shows and a lot of events require reservations, but do have standby lines. We did do these lines here and there and never had an issue getting seats to certain shows.

All In! – We were not fans of this show at all. Personally, didn’t make much sense to us, music and the decades were very inconsistent. The dancers were great, some of the singers were also great, but the show was not. Would rank it on our lowest ones we’ve seen from any of our cruises. We truly feel a Broadway show like they have on most of their other ships would have been better here for sure. This was not a hit. Even several guests also complained that this was not a good show. The elements and drones were pretty cool, but that was it.

We also had comedy here on our last night of the cruise. The first comedian struggled to get many people laughing at all, not sure if it was because of the size of the venue, but just didn’t work. The second comedian was a bit better.

Casino Royale (Non-Smoking)

As we make our way towards the aft of the ship we look to the left and see the non-smoking Casino. This venue is small compared to the larger Casino, but still offers a lot of options to choose from.

Crown Lounge

Right next door is the Crown Lounge, dedicated to the Diamond, Diamond Plus & Pinnacle Club Crown & Anchor members. We’re not there yet! One day!

The Attic

Across the way was The Attic, which we never actually went into at all. I believe this is where they had some comedy and other events throughout the cruise, but we never got a chance to see inside at all. Couldn’t even find the front entrance.

Studio B

As we continue on our tour we end up at Studio B, which is the ice skating arena on the ship. To the left is the Box Office, which on some of the other Oasis-class ships it was just another walkway to the casino. We only came in here once for Youtopia, which we will go into detail below. Overall same setup as the rest of the Oasis-class ships.

Youtopia – We got a chance to see this show on our first night after the Aqua show was cancelled. Felt the show was really good, music selection also good. Show was entertaining for the most part. Liked how they did some of the routines. Noticed they don’t do risky moves much anymore like backflips or certain skating moves like they did in the past. I can imagine it takes a toll on them doing them all the time. But overall a good show. We recommend a reservation for this show, if not they do have a standby line which we did. We got in and got decent seats in the middle.

Art Gallery

As we head towards the casino you’ll notice artwork on the walls. Really wish they would update some of these, been looking at some pieces since 2011.

Casino Royale

We make our way to the casino. There is smoking areas and non-smoking areas in this location. It did not really smell much at all. The casino was generally always busy and getting around was a bit packed at times. We did walk out ahead on this cruise, so that was really nice for a change.

Royal Railway Utopia Station ($$$)

We got a brief chance to check this new area out on embarkation day. We heard a lot of bad reviews on the food just being okay, but the show being something that was really fun. However the big question was, is it worth the money? From what I gathered from countless vlogs and blogs, was that you’re paying for the show at the end of the day. Food you had some good items and some okay items. For us, we didn’t really want to waste much money at all on any specialty dining since it was a shorter cruise and honestly, we really didn’t see anything that stood out for us personally. We can say with Utopia Station this looked really cool on the inside, theming was spot on to transporting you into that Wild West train car. Actually looking forward to seeing what they do on other ships with this venue.

DECK 5

Vitality Spa & Fitness Center (Deck’s 5 & 6)

We finally made it into the spa to check it out. Best day to do this is on embarkation day since they have the open house. Walking in was a bit overwhelming since every crew member will be in the front trying to show you around. I just said “no thank you” and made my way around. It was very spacious. Then a bit of a surprise for my wife, I know how much she wanted to check out those heated loungers. I went and got her and brought her down there to relax for a few minutes.

Running Track

Right outside the Royal Theater you’ll find the running track doors on either side, which take you around the entire ship in a loop.

Royal Promenade

We now come to the Royal Promenade, which is the area you enter once you first get on the ship. Truly an impressive area. Not too much difference in layout from one Oasis class ship to the next but from our past sailings on Oasis, Allure and Harmony we can say that this is one of the more modern looking of the three. Venues all just had a fresh look to them, which was nice. Now let’s show you each of the areas.

Spotlight Karaoke

First up is Spotlight Karaoke. This location has been improved a bit since Harmony. Looks to be a bit more spacious. Mainly you will have your karaoke and some other events here during the cruise.

Boleros ($$$)

Across the way is Boleros. This is a Latin-inspired bar with nightly live music and during the day you’ll sometimes find dance classes, which were a lot of fun.

Starbucks ($$$)

In the middle is the over-priced Starbucks. We didn’t waste any time getting a coffee here, since for one they didn’t have anything special or October and two, just so expensive. I get we’re at sea, but this was a bit extreme. So we stuck to the café down the way or just the generic free coffee, which wasn’t terrible.

Retail Shops

Here are some of the retail shops on board.

Bell & Barley ($$$)

As we head down the Promenade a bit more, we end up at the Bell & Barley. A nice pub with nightly music and a relaxing place to sit and relax.

Sorrento’s Pizza (Complimentary)

Across the way is Sorrento’s Pizza. I just don’t get the hype of this place at all. The pizza is decent at best. I was hungry some nights and just skipped this place altogether. We had it one night and it was just whatever. Nothing crazy. Also would like to note that I came down here numerous times to grab water and the ice machine was broken each time. They have the Coke machines right there, which most of the time were 10 people deep.

Café Promenade (Complimentary – Only Food Items)

As we get towards the end of the Promenade, we find ourselves at Café Promenade. They offer cheaper coffee options as well as some complementary bites throughout the day. One thing I found odd, was I went to get the free coffee I had to go from one side to the other to get the actual coffee then to get the cream and sugar. Made no sense, nothing crazy.

Next Cruise

Having a great time and want to plan your next cruise on board? Well here is where you’re going to do that.

Rising Tide Bar ($$$)

A bit of a different layout on here now. Seats are lower and seems like it’s spaced out a bit better than it used to be on some of the other Oasis class ships. Also why did they get rid of the water feature?!? I loved that so much, when it worked at least. The bar will take guests (you can also go for free) from the Promenade up to Central Park.

Pesky Parrott ($$$)

We’ve seen the Champagne Bar and the Bionic Bar at this location, but never the Pesky Parrott. Have to say this was one of things I looked forward to the most about coming on Utopia, and it did not disappoint. This was such a fun bar with some great drinks and every time we came in here we kept seeing something new. Loved it so much, make sure to stop by and see the Parrot.

DECK 6

Schooner Bar ($$$)

Heading upstairs we come to the Schooner Bar. Generally, this location is used for trivia during the day and music at night. We didn’t come here other than to take pictures. On these shorter cruises you really need to pick and choose what you want to do, this was not on our list.

Focus Gallery & Shore Excursions ($$$)

Across the way is the photo gallery. Any photos you take during the cruise will be available to see here. If you need help booking or you have a shore excursion booked already and you have questions, here is the desk to take care of that.

Boardwalk

We now start heading to the back through the doors and onto the Boardwalk. This area has been updated a bit since Harmony, as far as the touches of art goes. Large murals really make this area pop so nicely. Overall this area is still nice with a lot of familiar faces and locations.

Carousel (Complimentary)

Did notice, and it might just be us, but did they make the horses smaller? Comment below and let us know what you think. You can ride the carousel as much as you want and is completely free to do. One time we didn’t even do it!

Boardwalk Dog House (Complimentary)

To the left of the Carousel is the Boardwalk Dog House. We haven’t eaten here in a few years, didn’t do it this time either. But if you get hungry they have a small variety of sausages and dogs you can get as you walk around the Boardwalk. Free option.

Sugar Beach ($$$)

Right next door is Sugar Beach. They offer a ton of candy and ice cream options. For an extra fee.

Johnny Rockets (Complimentary – Only for Breakfast) ($$$)

This is one of my favorite spots for breakfast on any Royal Caribbean ship, mainly for the burger (upcharge). Some reason it’s the perfect size and tastes amazing. Rest of the breakfast options here are also good. Service always incredible. I wish they’d make it a little bigger, maybe not as big as Playmakers, but be able to fit more people inside. Grated we never had an issue getting a seat, but I can imagine it’s harder as the day goes on. Great value for the money in our opinion. Figure for the price to eat here and the price for just a burger on land is about the same. I remember coming to the one here in Kissimmee and with sides and shakes spending around $60. I can get all of that here and more for half.

Playmakers ($$$)

Across the way is Playmakers. This area I have a bit of an issue with, more of their selection of games. During our trip was the MLB playoffs, which was the final round. Not one TV had that game on. It was just College football, now I understand that is popular, but it doesn’t need to be on 75% of the tvs, when it’s the same game. It was such a pain to get the score with no internet. Finally got it on ESPN later that night. Fast forward and the Yankees just lost in the World Series last night. So I guess they were trying to do us a favor! Back to the venue. We did not eat here but have before on Independence. Great food then. Wished we had time to come here, again didn’t line up with all there was to do around the ship. Ambiance is a sports bar. Also a room in back where they have some old arcade games, which some worked and some didn’t. Free to use. Nice venue.

AquaTheater

Finally at the very back of deck 6 is the AquaTheater. This is will you will see their show, Aqua80Too. Overall we recommend booking this show at the beginning of the cruise, and here is why. On our first night of the cruise we had our reservations and got seats and right at the start of the show the assistant cruise director gets on the microphone to say the show was cancelled, first off terrible timing on their part since they kept letting everyone sit knowing it was going to get cancelled. But we then got free passes to come at the end of the cruise to see the show. So we did end up coming back. But the show get’s canceled sometimes often due to how bad the ship rocks from the elements. So booking early gives you a chance to come back again and not miss it at all. We ended up doing standby and getting in the next night. No issue getting a seat at all, but this will get packed. Onto the show, Aqua80too, which is the sequel to Aqua80 on Oasis. This show from start to finish was absolutely incredible. If you’re into the 80s music and movies at all, you don’t want to miss this show. Only bad part was that we only got to see if once. The show was probably in our top 3 from any show we’ve seen on any of our 43 cruises so far. It’s that damn good. Highly, highly, highly recommend. Best show on the ship by far!

DECK 7

Passenger Staterooms

Deck 7 is made up of passenger decks.

Rock Climbing Walls  (Complimentary)

Access is available to the sides of the AquaTheater. This wasn’t opened often for us, but is free to do.

DECK 8

Central Park

We now head up to Central Park. In case you’re wondering, yes all the plants are 100% real and someone is dedicated to making sure they look beautiful every single day. Overall this area is one of our favorites to be in. From the sounds of birds chirping in the morning, to live music at night, its truly a wonderful area of the ship. That’s not even including the amazing dining options available here. So let’s dive into them, shall we!

Izumi ($$$)

This location on Harmony, Allure and Oasis used to be Vintages Wine Bar, and Izumi was where Royal Railway is. However on Utopia is Izumi. Izumi is made up of 4 different sections where you can dine at.

Izumi Sushi: This is where you can choose a prefix menu (we don’t recommend) or a traditional a la carte menu of sushi rolls, soups and appetizers to choose from.

Teppanyaki: This section is I believe the largest for Royal Caribbean and is absolutely beautiful. Chef’s will cook right in front of you. We’ve only done this once in our lives on Norwegian years ago and had a great time. One day we will on Royal.

The Omakase Table: This is a brand-new concept for Royal Caribbean. Offers is a table of 6 guests (any guests) and is a similar experience to the Chef’s Table, which consists of 8 courses. I was on the fence with trying this since it came with a hefty price tag, along with managing what we wanted to do each night on the cruise.

Izumi in the Park: This we actually did try. I honestly didn’t want to since it had more of the basic rolls, but these were surprisingly really good. The menu is super limited and is meant for a quick bite. So we did just that. Overall impressed. No need to go inside, just walk up to the window, place your order and in a few minutes your order will be called for you to pick up and enjoy in the park.

Park Café  (Complimentary)

Moving down Central Park another popular eatery is the Park Café. This location is open for breakfast and lunch as well as later on at night for snacks. We came in here mainly for some refreshments and free bags of chips. They do offer a decent selection. Also more of a quieter spot to eat, with a beautiful surrounding area. At night when they have live music the Park Café offers small tapas to enjoy as you sit and listen.

Trellis Bar ($$$)

Now we come up to the Trellis Bar, which generally always had people at it. Never had drinks here before, always seemed like a popular spot.

Chops Grille ($$$)

Next we come to the steakhouse, Chops Grille. We’ve never dined at the Royal Caribbean Steakhouse before, however have seen pictures and videos and it looks amazing. Would recommend it alone, based off that.

150 Central Park ($$$)

We come to the final restaurant in Central Park and that is 150 Central Park, we’ve dined here twice before and it was hit and miss for us. Our last visit far better than our first. Out of everything on the ship we would have kept this on the top to come back to.

Music Hall (Deck’s 8 & 9)

Spanning across two decks is the Music Hall. While we never actually came here for music, we did briefly stop by to check out the game room puzzle they had. Wasn’t really too interesting so we left. But this area is popular at night with the live music.

DECK 9

Passenger Staterooms

Deck 9 is made up of passenger decks.

DECK 10

Passenger Staterooms

Deck 10 is made up of passenger decks.

DECK 11

Passenger Staterooms

Deck 11 is made up of passenger decks.

Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen & Wine Bar (Deck’s 11 & 12) ($$$)

One of the most impressive restaurants on Utopia has to be Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen. We did come in to check it out and it looked awesome. From the 2 level restaurant to the outside dining overlooking the Boardwalk, this was really a step in the right direction here. Food we did not try, but from all the menus on the ship, this looked like it had the better of the options in our opinion. We did have it originally booked, but ended up cancelling in hopes to try somewhere else. Would recommend coming here.

DECK 12

Passenger Staterooms

Deck 12 is made up of passenger decks.

DECK 14

Adventure Ocean

This will be the location of the kids groups on the ship, including;

Aquanauts: Ages 3 – 5, kids can conduct experiments and become Certified Jr. Adventure Scientists.

Explorers: Ages 6 – 8, kids can participate in themed parties and other cruise activities.

Voyagers: Ages 9 – 12, kids can take part in activities that make learning fun.

The ship also has Royal Babies and Tots Nursery for babies, which offers care for a fee.

Passenger Staterooms

Deck 14 is made up of passenger decks.

DECK 15

Solarium (Deck’s 14 & 15)

A totally revamped area of the ship from Harmony is the Solarium. A lot of key differences here that we noticed. For starters the entrance starts at the hot tub on the side of the ship, on Harmony (Allure & Oasis) it starts after. Small, but better feature. Then the hot tub itself, they only have it on one side, vs both. In place on the other side is the Vue Bar, which we’ll show you later on. Other than that the roof was completely covered, no openings. Which you’d think that it would make it warmer, but ironically it was one of the cooler areas around the ship. The Solarium offered a bunch of water areas as well as a pool in the middle. The setup was overall different and looked better in so many ways compared to the other Oasis-class ships we’ve been on. We spent some time relaxing in here, well worth it. Really liked what they did in this area.

Solarium Bistro  (Complimentary)

Inside the Solarium, well sort of is the Solarium Bistro. This venue is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The venue itself went from a pool side restaurant in the Solarium, to an upscale Mediterranean restaurant. Amazing transformation. We dined here for dinner and it was absolutely incredible. Our tip is to get a reservation, although we were able to get in for opening without an issue, it filled up very quickly. Dinner they offer a Mediterranean tapas buffet. Everything we had was delicious. Another tip, the dining room has a night that they offer similar options, we’d suggest coming here instead. Worth coming here at least once on your cruise. Wish they did more of these complimentary dining venues around the ship.  Also the main entrance is near the elevators in the front on deck 15.

Vue Bar ($$$)

Now we make our way out of the Solarium which used to be the other hot tub area, but now is the Vue Bar and let me tell you the “vue” is amazing! Would have loved to see this at the perfect sunset or even sunrise. Reminded me a bit of the Magic Carpet on Celebrity Apex, not sure why but that is the vibe I got from the bar.

Splashaway Bay

This is where things start getting a bit different for us on the ship compared to the other Oasis-class ships we’ve previously been on. Starting with Splashaway Bay, which is the kids area along with the entrance to the slides. I understand the concept Royal was going for here with the kids area, however I’ll get to why it didn’t really work out the way they hoped shortly at the other pool areas.

Beach Pool

Across the way is the Beach Pool, well a pool because all three main pools like about the same, no theming at all. But we’ve always appreciated the pools on the Oasis ships and even on Royal Caribbean in general. Always good size pools with tons of seating. This I’d say is the lesser crowded pools and won’t have the parties and games during the day time. This is closer to the Solarium and waterslides.

Smoking Area

In between the two pool areas is the smoking area on the ship (besides the Casino).

The Lime & Coconut Bar (Deck’s 15 & 16) ($$$)

Opposite of the smoking area and spanning two decks is The Lime & Coconut Bar. This was so cool that they did this. Reminded us a bit of the two level RedFrog Rum Bar that Carnival Mardi Gras had. This setup was better I think, but did get very crowded at times and cramped on the second level, especially during the parties and events.

Main Pools (Port Side & Starboard Side)

I’m going to combine these two pools into one section, even those they are separate. Here is why, first off they are both great pools, loved the hot tubs above and the layered seatings. I combined it since in the middle is the large screen and this is where most of the parties and events will happen on the pool dec. So again, the pools were great. Felt it didn’t get overwhelmingly crowded. They do events at one or both pools, depending on what it is.

I’m going to give you parents a bit of a heads up here. Now we don’t have kids, I can say you might want to avoid these pools, especially during some of these events. First was the sailaway party. It was the start of the raunchiness, with the staff going around and shooting people in the face with the drink guns, or whatever they call them. Then at the Sexiest Man Competition with grown men grinding and stripping and the pool being filled with kids watching. At certain points when it was down to the finals and things starting to get a bit more raunchy and the dancing and grinding to the song Pony now had kids splashing these grown men with water. Now we’re not prudes by any means, we were just a bit shocked at it. Other parties had crew dancing around in shiny skimpy bikinis. I get it's a “party” ship, but why have these events with kids just sitting there looking and partaking? Even in the competition, the woman had who seemed like her young granddaughter (must have been around 11 or 12) sitting there as her grandma was being grinded on by a random guy. She just sat there watching. Royal might want to rethink this, maybe move it to the Solarium so you can keep it adults-only.

The Spare Tire (Complimentary)

We did not have much hope for this free poolside dining venue. They had some gas-station inspired items. We tried them and had to spit them out because they were just disgusting. Have to say Carnival has a similar concept on Mardi Gras that was a million times better and even Independence has a little seafood stand which was amazing. This was a terrible option to have. We tired, but did not work for us at all. I’ve eaten plenty of gas station food, this was way worse than that.

The Mason Jar ($$$)

Next up is The Mason Jar. This location is split between two different venues inside. The restaurant which serves Southern dishes and then the bar area which offers small bites late at night and some great cocktails and live music at night. During the day the bar is a quiet and relaxing area to hang out in with some comfy rocking chairs. We came at night for some country music, it got busy at points. Also always find it odd to have little kids at 10pm at night coming into the bar with their family. Shouldn’t you be sleeping? Overall this was a great place to enjoy. Loved the fact that they served moonshine, which is mainly what I like to drink. Granted it’s the lower proof Apple Pie stuff which is still good, I’m more of a 150 proof type of guy. As for the restaurant. We saw a lot of reviews and videos and what we could gather was the food was decent at best, but not worth the money at all. So take it how you want. Us we’ll just stick to the live music and drinks.

Windjammer Marketplace (Complimentary)

One of the most improved areas on the ship from one’s we’ve been on prior was the buffet. From day 1 it was incredible. Now Royal, more specifically the Oasis class always to me had the absolutely worst buffet setups and variety at sea. Now you see our resume of ships and lines, for it to be at the bottom is saying something. Now fast-forward to Utopia and it has to be right up there with the best of the best. Embarkation lunch I want to say the highlight was the chilled lobster tails, now these were really good, but my eye got to wandering around. Found some melted butter, and a hot dog bun. Boom, lobster roll! Now this creation was really, really good. I’ve had fresh lobster rolls in Maine and this was up there as a typical one you’d find at Old Orchard Beach pier, if you know, you know. I had at least four of them. That is only offered on the first day of the cruise, so keep that in mind. Another option that we came across that was amazing was the stir fry noodles, these were so damn good. Seriously you have to try them. Other than that we were just super impressed with the variety the Windjammer had across the board. No matter if it was at breakfast, lunch or dinner it was always a lot of great options. Layout is a mirror image on both sides with tons of seating. A bit of a tip, if you walk towards the back there is a quieter section overlooking the Boardwalk. We found it on the last day. Very impressed with the Windjammer.

Playscape (Complimentary)

This is a new area on the top deck which used to be the location of the second Flowrider. Now it’s dedicated to the kids, where they can do slides, climb walls and play a bunch of other games.

DECK 16

Hooked Seafood ($$$)

Out of all the restaurants on Utopia this was probably my favorite, no not for the food which we didn’t try, but more of the Ambiance. It’s ambiance was something you’d find all over in New England, which is right up my alley with the nautical theming throughout. Also a picture of Portland Head Light, which was the inspiration to Red Lobster’s Lighthouse. We also have a video on our YouTube channel from our day here, check it out. This location is right above the Solarium Bistro and bring a sweater, felt it was one of the colder locations on the ship. They offer the classic New England favorites, such as crab cakes, lobster rolls and fresh oysters.

Social 100 & Social 100 Patio (Deck’s 16 & 17)

This is going to be the teen area for kids 13 – 17.

Arcade ($$$)

Now this was a pretty cool arcade. Good spaced-out size.

El Loco Fresh (Complimentary)

On Allure this was one of my favorite venues to dine at. We tried it again on Utopia. But first the venue itself, can we just appreciate the upgrade this area has rightfully gotten? Wow, this was great to see. So much more seating and the area is just so much nicer. Food, was still pretty good as well. The flavors were good. No complaints!

Cantina Fresca ($$$)

Something new is Cantina Fresca. This was just the bar at El Loco Fresh. Again super impressed with this entire area and how improved it is compared to Allure.

Aqua Dunes (Complimentary)

This might have been the first time we ever played a complete game on a cruise. This is right next to El Loco Fresh/Cantina Fresca. It was a lot of fun with the theming. Also at night they light it up a bit, making it so much more fun to play in the dark.

Table Tennis (Complimentary)

Here is where the table tennis is, love that they have it in its own area and blocked off so your balls don’t go flying everywhere!

Sports Court

Here is the basketball court, which looks so tiny compared to the ship.

Flowrider (Complimentary)

The Flowrider area is now down to one. To us it didn’t have that same feel that we always got on the other Oasis ships that had to. It was always fun spending time up here and going back and forth to them. This was still fun to check out.

Zip Line (Complimentary)

Right across from the Flowrider is the Zip line entrance.

Wipe Out Bar ($$$)

The Wipe Out Bar now has Shave Ice, totally random. Guess what, you have to pay for those!

Ultimate Abyss Slide (Complimentary)

Sitting 150 feet above the ocean is the Ultimate Abyss. This will take you from deck 16 to the Boardwalk in about 19 seconds along the longest slide at sea, coming in at 259 feet. At night it will illuminate with it’s 300 led lights. You can even race your friend and wave to them as you pass by in the transparent window. Have fun, we’ll pass on this!

DECK 17

Sun Deck

All the way up on deck 17 is another public sun deck away from it all.

Coastal Kitchen (Suite & Pinnacle Guests Only)

For Suite and Pinnacle Guests only, this is the Coastal Kitchen.

Suite Lounge

Here is where the Suite Lounge is located.

DECK 18

The Perfect Storm Waterslides (Complimentary)

The ship offers a few different waterslides, here is where you will find them.

Suite Sun Deck

Here is where the Suite Sun Desk is located.

Ports of Call & Embarkation Port

Port Canaveral

I spent more time trying to find a parking spot than we did in the terminal. Had to be the fastest we’ve ever been through the terminal and on the ship. We were parked by 9:50am and on the ship by 10:00am. Come of Disney, get it together already with your bogus boarding times. I really wish people who make decisions on these lines actually go and experience other lines. Their ways are not always the best, in general I’m talking about. On the actual terminal, we’ve gone in and out of here tons of times. Already basic, easy and a breeze. No complaints.

Nassau, Bahamas (SEA DAY)

Out of all of our cruises we’ve been on we’ve been to Nassau around half of them. So missing it and staying at sea due to weather wasn’t the worst thing in the world. We honestly had no plans to get off in Nassau anyways, so having a sea day was kind of the same. We paid to cruise for this ship and this ship alone, ports were irrelevant to us for this trip. But we did ultimately skip Nassau due to the weather.

Perfect Day at Coco Cay (Royal Caribbean’s Private Island)

Out next port of call was Coco Cay, which we were at a few months prior. We did not get off here either. Our day was mainly spent in the pools and around the ship with it being more enjoyable with far less people. Also had a chance to record our tours and photos for here and YouTube. Speaking of YouTube, we’ve been to Coco Cay several times, a few videos are on our channel if you want to check those out.

Thank you for checking out our tour of Utopia of the Seas. Also make sure to check out our YouTube channel and subscribe, really does help out the channel, and best of all it’s completely free to do!

Stay tuned for our next adventure!
