Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resort Tour
Welcome to Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resort, located in the Epcot Resort area. This has always been one of my favorite resorts. From the moment you walk in and explore around, you are taken to a New England style resort with all of the amazing decor.
Both of the resorts share one large pool called Stormalong Bay, which is for resort guests only. The pool is probably one of the best, if not the best pool in all of Disney World. Of course you have a few other pools that are also available for guests.
Hungry? The resorts have several options to choose from, including Beaches and Cream which serves some amazing ice cream options and other great food. If you're looking for seafood then check out the Cape May Cafe which has all-you-care to enjoy crab legs as well as a whole buffet full of options. Along with several other coastal-inspired restaurants you will also find a few grab-and-go options in both resorts.
This is one resort that is very convenient to both Epcot and Hollywood Studios. Epcot is just within walking distance while Hollywood Studios is just a short boat ride away. Also near this resort you will find the Swan & Dolphin Resort as well as Disney's Boardwalk Resort which is an adventure all by itself.
Overall this is a great resort, from the stunning pool and great location. Great resort for families! Also it's not too big so no need for the walking shoes, trade those in for some flip flops and sunglasses!
Welcome to Disney's Yacht Club Resort.
When you first walk in you are greeted to a large globe.
Looking left once you're in the lobby you will see the Ale & Compass Lounge in the distance, as well as some rooms. Also the location towards the Beach Club Resort.
To the right is the check-in desk and rooms, as well as the Marketplace which is a grab-and-go.

On the other side of the lobby is the check-in desk. You can also get theme park tickets, boat recreations as well as dining can be booked here.
Just outside the lobby, off in the distance is a lighthouse. When walking towards it, down about halfway you will have a pathway going left and right. Towards the left will take you to Epcot and the Boardwalk Resort. To the right you can take a walk over to the Swan & Dolphin Resort and Disney's Hollywood Studios. If you're looking to get to any of those locations without the walking, then just head down to the lighthouse and grab a boat to any of those locations.
These are the dining options available in the Yacht and Beach Club Resorts.
The Market at Ale & Compass is a grab-and-go market in the Yacht Club, inside you also have a shopping section. Over at the Beach Club you will have something very similar available.
Inside the shops here as well as shops in each of the resorts you will find things such as shirts and cups that are exclusive to those resorts. Also themed to those resorts. Here you will find coastal and nautical-themed.
I always love seeing artwork dedicated to sections of Disney. This is of the lighthouse I mentioned earlier.

Onto the other side of the lobby you will come to the Ale & Compass Lounge, which as you see is open from 11:30am to 1am. They have a nice-size drink menu along with some food options. You can find a menu to here as well as any of the other restaurants on Disney's website.

Here is the bar area in the back. It's tucked away behind the front area of the restaurant. I almost missed it.
To the right is the main lobby area and to the left is our next destination.

Walking away from the restaurant and down the hallway you come across a few more dining options.
I was not able to get into the Crew's Cup Lounge, however we've eaten here before and here is what we thought of it. Click the link HERE.
Next door is the Yachtsman Steakhouse. One place we've been wanting to try out. We've heard nothing but good things about this place.
I was able to walk in and check out this beautiful restaurant.

I was not able to go into the pool area since I was not a guest and they have someone checking each person.

Prior to this photo being taken it was about 20 years ago when I was in here last. This resort is a trip down memory lane for me. I came to Disney a lot as a kid but mainly said at the value resorts, we took one trip up and stayed here and loved every moment of it. I remember that trip more for the resort than the parks.
Sure looked bigger when I was a kid.
Everytime I see this pool that first thing I think of is how can I get to use it without staying here. Simple answer, you cannot! Now I mentioned that it won't feel packed since it is a shared pool. This photo is from a weekend right before the 4th of July in the afternoon.
Another great spot is Beaches & Cream Soda Shop. We love the ice cream here. We personally like it better than Ample Hills (Boardwalk) and Ghirardelli's (Disney Springs). You can also get the Kitchen Sink here, which is their most popular item. You can check out our review HERE.
Inside Beaches & Cream. It's not large and only fits a small amount of people. It's this section and a few booths to my left. Reservations are available, but usually difficult to get, depending on the time.

Now onto another part of the Beach Club Resort, Martha's Vineyard. From what I saw it was just a lounge that hosted the World Cup. Several locations throughout the resort were showing it.
Disney has a ton of buffet options, everything from inside the parks to around the resorts, foods from all over the world. One of the more popular options is the Cape May Cafe over at the Beach Club. Their main attraction is the Crab Legs, and throughout the week their dinner buffet specialty options change. Check on Disney's site for more information on that. They are also open for breakfast as well.

Off to the lobby, much like in the Yacht Club is the Marketplace. Same concept as to the one next door.

Also some merchandise for the newly opened Toy Story Land, which is an awesome new land at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

Now outside of the Marketplace and through the doors you come out to the Disney Vacation Club (DVC) section of the resort. This is for anyone who is part of the DVC, you can find more information on that inside any of the resorts as well as inside the parks, and online.
Welcome to the Beach Club Villas at Disney's Beach Club Resort.
The Breezeway, I forgot to take a picture inside. It's a huge seating area that is so relaxing. You can see more of it in my video above.
Outside you will come to their pool which is only for the DVC members.
Back to the resort and through to the back of the Beach Club Resort you have a beach section, which you will find a few spots around facing the water. You can see the lighthouse where you have the boats that take you to the other resorts and parks. Across the way is a view of Disney's Boardwalk which is steps away to your left, down the pathway. The Boardwalk comes alive at night so make sure you check it out! To the right, from this location will take you to the Swan & Dolphin Resort.
Way back in the day a ship washed up ashore at the Beach Club Resort. Just kidding! This is actually a water slide that leads right into Stormalong Bay.

Hard to tell from the picture but you can somewhat see the sand that they have. Also from what I remember they have parts of the pool that are sand-bottomed.
Here is another view of the lighthouse. Now a few tips. For the quickest way to get to Epcot and Swan & Dolphin, take the pathways. For Hollywood Studios take the boat. Boardwalk is depending on if the boat is visible or not. If you can see the boat then take it, if not then walk. Either way, no matter where you want to go in this area, walking or boat is a easy and great way to get around. Great location to everything! To get to any of the parks just head to either of the lobbies and take the transportation.
Finally we end our tour where we began, in the lobby of the Yacht Club Resort. Now I'm off and onto the bus station right outside to head back to Disney Springs where I parked.
